Will the video equipment be distracting during the ceremony?
Parker Productions strives to be as unobtrusive as possible on your wedding day. We have often heard from brides after the wedding that they amazed by all the footage we captured as they barely recall even seeing us. This is our favorite compliment. We shoot your video in a documentary style which means there will never be any staging. A small on camera light (20-40 watt) may be used at the reception if lighting levels are too low, but we will not use any external lighting at your ceremony. Thanks to the high quality of our digital 3-chip cameras, it is not necessary.
Why do I want 2 or more cameras?
2 or more cameras insure that none of your wedding day moments are lost and you get the best possible coverage. For example, one videographer with one camera can't get the Bride coming down the aisle and the Grooms reaction all at once.
Why do I want editing? I want to see my whole wedding.
As I use the term, editing does not mean the removal of useable scenes from the tape. Rather, editing a wedding video tape involves the following:
- All the footage recorded at your wedding will be 'captured' onto my non-linear editing system. I will then choose which camera had the better shot of the action and use that camera's footage.
- The addition of titles, music, still photos, etc.
- The addition of special effects such as black and white, slow motion, color correction when necessary etc.
(See sample)
- The elimination of repeat or glitchy images which would detract from the production. For example, I must sometimes leave the tape running while zooming very quickly or turning the camera around to catch spontaneous action; this footage is edited out.
- Editing can be used creatively to give your production a better pace and make it more watchable, such as broken up dance scenes from the reception, or in the highlights and picture time segments.
- If you have chosen the Gold, Platinum or Diamond packages your DVD is then authored. Custom menus are created and the footage is given chapter points to make fast forwarding to exactly the part you would like to view easy.
- Finally your video is compressed to a digital file size appropriate for DVD or VHS format and your heirloom wedding record is created.
What do you mean by 'Highlights'?
Your highlights will be a very condensed version of moments throughout your day, produced and stylized to reflect the feeling of the overall experience. Please take a look at the samples on this web site or contact us to see a demo.

What's 'Picture Time'?
Parker Productions will follow the Bridal party after the ceremony to get their still photography session on video and produce this into a segment we call 'Picture Time'. This segment is intended to enhance, not replace your still photography session.
What's a 'Great Opening'?
A Great Openings segment will feature the surroundings on your special day in an edited montage. We will strive to include all the special touches you put so much thought into - the flowers, the church, the reception hall, the cake, the tables etc.(See sample)
Can we have the raw footage?
Your raw footage is on DV tapes playable only on a DV camera. We can put all of this footage on to long play VHS for an additional charge, to be made available after the edited program has been delivered.
What's DVD-ROM ?
DVD-ROM is Digital Video Disc - Read Only Memory. When we include your still photo moments on the DVD-ROM side (Diamond Package) this means they will be viewable, printable ( although the quality as a print will not be high), and exportable - meaning you can send them via e-mail, include them on a web page, or turn them in to computer wallpaper etc. Because your video will be of every moment during your day, we can go through and select the exact moment you would want to preserve as still, when the sun is shining just so, the smiles are perfect and no one is blinking. When necessary we will perfect or enhance these still images in Adobe Photoshop™ - like making the background sky a deeper shade of blue, or cropping out Aunt Ethel's elbow.
Can we pick our own music?
Yes. You are welcome to provide us in advance with songs you would like to be included, where possible on your finished video. Any songs you choose must be on CD and should be provided to us in advance of your ceremony so we can get started on your editing as soon as possible after the wedding day.
Do you interview guests?
If you request it.
Do you have Demo we can see?
Absolutely. Please contact us at bpvideo@parkerdigitalvideo.com or call 412-655-4818.
Do you use lighting?
It may be necessary to use a small on camera light at the reception because of the low light available at most reception venues. We will not use any additional light at your ceremony. If your ceremony is exceedingly dark you can expect to lose some color from the images and some loss of picture sharpness.
How long will it take to get our video?
It will take12 weeks at most, unless you are otherwise notified. It is not uncommon for us to spend 30-40 hours editing a single wedding with our thoughtful and artistic style.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a deposit of $250 is required to hold your date on our calendar. The remainder of the balance is due at the event, or earlier. Internet access is required for credit card payments.
What if my church has restrictions on video?
We will work with your officiate and within the limitations of your church or synagogue. We have filmed on location in the majority of the most restrictive facilities in Pittsburgh.
I have a new wide screen 16x9 television. Can you produce my wedding for widescreen?
Congratulations on such an awesome TV. I believe 16x9 is the format of the future for home viewing. I can indeed produce your entire wedding in 16x9 widescreen. As you know, widescreen has the black bars at the top and bottom on a regular TV because the image is wider and more peripheral detail can be shown. On your widescreen TV the image will fill the screen perfectly. A wedding shot in 16x9 anamorphic video, which is only available on DVD, will give your wedding a very cinematic, theatrical feel.
